Slick Harrison[/b] once again pushes back the throngs of journalists pressing against the hotel door, repeating, for what seems like the hundredth time:Slick Harrison: Ladies, gentlemen, PLEASE! Stand back! The man on the othah side o' that door is LAY-THUL!One journalist tries her luck nonetheless:Journalist: Mr. Harrison, is there any truth to these allegations that Mr Congo may not be who you claim him to be...?This time, it is Kerry[/b] who comes to the rescue. The Brit has been charming professional acquaintances of hers out of asking about Congo[/b] , but now butts in, just in the nick of time:Kerry Buckingham: Patience, Lisa, darling! It will all be explained in a statement, very soon!Lisa[/b] opens her mouth to protest, but before she can, a svelte brunette pushes to the front of the line, coming face to face with Kerry:The two women greet each other coldly:Kerry: Stacy...Stacy Kinsey: Kay...Stacy[/b] shoots a glance at Slick[/b] , with a smirk:Stacy: ...you must be *really* desperate...At this, both the manager and the journalist bristle. For once, however, Harrison[/b] manages to get a word in before Kay[/b] :Slick: How could you do this to me, Stace? To your old boyfriend?Kinsey[/b] merely chuckles:Stacy: You hit the nail on the head, honeybun. *Old*. And boring, to boot. I need someone different, someone younger and exciting. Max is so much more...well, let's just say he's a bigger man than you. In more ways than one.The gossip journalist giggles, then turns to her antagonist again, concluding, cattily:Stacy: But I see you found someone in your own age group...you guys look *totes adorbz* together! She winks at both her unwilling interlopers, then adds:Stacy: Oh, and tell Eddie-poo that Maxie says hi, and see you at the next Shockwave! He can't wait to kick the Shizz out of him again! And with this, and a snide little finger-wave, the journalist turns on her heels, addressing some of her colleagues to promise them 'the exclusive story of the man behind the mask, King Congo'[/b] . To Kerry[/b] and Slick[/b] 's horror, a fair few follow her, but there is nothing either the manager or the Brit can do about it; at least not for the couple of days until their statement is released. As such, Harrison[/b] merely heaves a sigh and swipes his card to enter the room behind him. When he last left Ed[/b] , he was having an honest-to-goodness breakdown, and Slick[/b] hasn't heard him budge in a while; he needs to make sure his cash cow's all right.
