Character Info
Name: Jimmy Riley
Height: 6'4”
Weight: 230 lbs.
Hometown: Cleveland, OH (now residing in Anaheim, CA)
Alignment: Face
Entrance Music: “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light 'Em Up)” by Fall Out Boy
Entrance Description:
The wailing of Patrick Stump echoes throughout the building as fans rise to their feet, looking at the entrance way. As the first verse of “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark” breaks through the PA system, Jimmy Riley bursts through the curtain, walking out on the stage. His smiling face is looking out at the fans as he walks around the stage itself, motioning for the fans to get on their feet and get louder. Upon coming back to the center of the stage, Riley takes off, heading for the ring. His hoodie is half-zipped up, and he makes sure to reach out and slap some fans' hands as he makes his way down the aisle.
Reaching the ring as the chorus hits, Jimmy hops up on the apron, spinning around and locking his arms around the top rope, bouncing off of it just a little bit as he looks out at the audience again. After a moment, he swings one leg up and his body carries under the top rope, bouncing to mid-ring where he throws his arms out to the side, soaking in the crowd reaction before he backs into his corner, removing his hoodie and preparing for the match at hand.
Physical Appearance: Jimmy keeps his brown hair somewhat short, but still allows for some shagginess and style. His green eyes are the inspiration for his green trunks in the ring, and some (girlfriend Maggie Rourke included) would say his smile is the kind that lights up a room. His physique has fluctuated throughout his career, though now he carries a little bit of excess weight, to put more force behind his strikes. (PB: Chris Pine)
Ring Attire: Jimmy Riley has opted to return to his original gear for this stint in the ring; he wears emerald green trunks, with black elbow supporters, kneepads, and boots. The only other addition is plain white wrist tape. On his way to the ring, Jimmy will wear different colored zip-up hoodies (neon green, red, yellow, emerald green, black, and white). For particularly important matches, he'll put his hood up until he reaches the ring.
Gimmick: Riley is a man on a two-fold mission; to prove those who doubt his abilities wrong, and to help fight LEGION off. Outside of the ring, he's also on a search to find his dad, who had a wrong business deal with people associated with LEGION.
Personality: Jimmy Riley's always been one with a quick joke or insult to those around him. He's a bit jaded from his career in the ring, but puts it aside when around those he cares about. He's particularly close to his Marauders partners, Jonathan Collins and Fiona Rourke, as well as those close to them; Madison Collins, and Fiona's cousin, Maggie.
List up to three strengths of your character; they can be in-ring related, personality related, whatever you think helps define your character:
1. Quickness: Jimmy Riley isn't fast. What he is, however, is sudden. His style relies on being able to improvise in the ring, and he can get where he needs to go.
2. Personality: In what he would call his “darker” days, Jimmy Riley was considered a master manipulator. Now, he doesn't manipulate as much, but can still use his personality to gain help and trust from others; he just makes sure to pay it back in kind.
3. Style Mastery: Jimmy's “kinetic striking” style isn't something that hasn't been done before, but he might be one of the best at it. There's a certain strength behind his trademark moves that doesn't seem normal from a regular guy doing the same thing.
List up to three weaknesses of your character:
1. One-Track Mind: Well, two track. Jimmy's not in the mood to mess around in EXODUS, and he'd prefer to head straight for LEGION instead of mess around. It can cause a bit of tunnel vision both in matches against the group and in matches with those that aren't members.
2. Back to Basics: Sometimes, Jimmy Riley gets frustrated during a match. If this happens, he's more likely to start taking shortcuts, and that can get him in trouble with referees.
3. Overprotective: The list of people Jimmy will go out of his way to protect is few (Madison Collins, Maggie Rourke & Fiona's other roommates, Fiona herself), but if they're in danger, he'll rush in. That's regardless of what kind of odds he'd be against.
Biography: Most of Jimmy Riley's story has been told before; his days in the northeast indies, his time away from wrestling, his comeback in Knoxville. Now, however, he's trying to put all of it behind him; he's in San Diego, he's got a new girlfriend (the cousin of EXODUS competitor and one of his best friends, Fiona Rourke), and he's got a set goal in mind. But there's still the singular ghost of his past that haunts him; his missing father, Jim Riley Sr. Until he finds out what happened to his father and puts that behind him, it's unlikely Jimmy Riley will ever be able to be at peace with his old life.
Wrestling Style: “Kinetic Striking” - Jimmy Riley puts movement and force behind every one of his strikes, while also implementing some basic technical holds he's picked up through the years.
